Crafting For All Seasons - Patriotic/Military/Fireworks

Hello :)  I have made this card super early as we move next week ... so today's date is actually the 7th of June .. but you will be seeing this on the 27th June!  I'm not sure how long I will be without computer or internet access so thought I had better play it safe.

The Australian Flag is based on the Blue Ensign. It is a plain blue flag with the British Union Jack in the upper corner of the hoist. This symbolises both Australia's colonial background and the present-day membership of the British Commonwealth. Underneath is the seven-pointed Commonwealth star. Each point represents either a state or territory. On the right hand side there are five white stars in the shape of the Southern Cross, the constellation most characteristic of the Australian sky at night.

I decided to go Patriotic and I have based my colours on the Australian flag.  My other option was going to be to use the typical Aussie colours of Green and Gold ... but this gorgeous image called Bubbles from Saturated Canary just didn't suit those colours I thought.

 I have coloured Bubbles using Copic Markers and a little bit of Spica Pen.  For the Bubbles floating around her I coloured them in spica and then covered them with some little 'Droplets' from Kaisercraft.
The flowers were made from a Marianne Design Craftables Die and I added a little bit of bling in the centre.
Cardstock is from a We R Memory Keepers Yankee Doodles pack.

Whimsy - Buttons & Bows

Hello there its Wednesday and that means a new Whimsy Challenge!

This week we challenge you to use

No card from me this week as we are in the middle of moving house.

As you are reading this I'm probably loading heavy furniture and boxes into the trailer whilst being yelled at by my Husband  ... all the while trying to keep our little one entertained.  Believe me I would much rather be crafting!  But soon I will be back in action in my new craft space.

I thought this image would be wonderful for a young boy and have coloured it in bright copics and a simple colour scheme.

Its moving week for us!  Settlement on the house is on Friday!  But we are currently moving trailer loads into the garage (he was nice enough to let us have a key to the garage early).  So I will be MIA for a week or two.  I will miss you .... and can't wait to catch up with everyone's gorgeous creations when I can get back to my desk in my new home!!!  Super excited!

I'm ready to move house ...

Hello my gorgeous blog friends.  Well moving day is almost here!  Two days until we get the keys!!!
For the last two days we have been moving a lot of things into the shed at the new home ... the current owner was nice enough to give us a key to the shed so we could at least make a start.
The big things will all be done with a drive yourself truck we are hiring on Friday.  Saturday will be doing trailer loads of pot plants and outdoor things and then Sunday will be the clean up of the old house ..... yuk!  And of course the next two days we will continue to do trailer loads .... WOW do we have a lot of crap!  10 years in the one place ..... you sure do collect stuff.

As of tomorrow night I will not have computer/internet access for at least two weeks!  I'm devastated!  I feel like I'm going to be cut off from the world!  It has nearly been a year that I have been blogging and on Facebook.  To be honest a few weeks off Facebook will do me the world of good ... it can be such a time waster.  But Blogging!!!  OH NO!  As you know I'm on a few Design Teams and I feel dreadful that I can't meet my commitments with them for a couple of weeks.  I know everyone understands .. but I don't like to let any one down.

I just wanted to let you know that I have not stopped blogging or crafting and I will be back just as soon as I can.  I will miss you all terribly!  But I'm sure I will be so buys unpacking and setting up my craft room (oh yeah and the usual cooking, cleaning, working part time, looking after a family etc etc) that the time will fly.

Seeing as I have been blogging for almost a year .. I think when I come back I will put up some Candy and have a little Blogging Birthday Party :)  I would have loved to have gotten it organised before we moved ... but I didn't realise that the internet was getting disconnected tomorrow!

Whimsy - Things With Wings

Wednesday again ..... Next week is moving week for us!!  Can't believe it has been 3 months since we found our new home!!  The time is finally here .. gee I wish we had wings so that we could fly all our stuff to the new home.

Talking about wings ... this week over at the Whimsy Inspires Challenge Bog it is time for a new challenge and the theme is ...... Things With Wings!  :)

I have made this card for my niece ... it is her 9th Birthday tomorrow.  She loves pink but does not like girly stuff.  So I've tried really hard to make a card for a young girl, in pink, but not girly ... wow now that is a challenge in itself.

So this is what I came up with ... plain but lots of colour.  I think its just her style .... hopefully :)

I have used a really cute image from the Whimsy store called I Am Blue from Lia Stampz.

Whoopsi Daisy - Summer Colours Challenge

Good morning ... is the sun shining?  At the moment it isn't here .. but a summer card always brightens up the day.

This week over at Whoopsi Daisy we challenge you to use

Summer Colours.

For my card I have used an image from Sheet 246 ... you can find the sheets here ...

As soon as I saw this image I fell in love with her!  I have coloured her using copic markers and the background papers are from a paper stack called The Endless Summer Stack that I got from our local BigW store.  I have used two different sheets .. the orange one in the background and then cut out the flowers from another and attached them.  I sat my little fairy onto one of the leaves using double sided foam ... so she pops right out of the card.  This has all been mounted on a yellow base card.

Over her dress and wings I have used a clear spica pen to add some sparkle but that never shows up in the photos unfortunately.
