Glitter glitter on the wall ......

Yeah I know it makes no sense ... but you know me :)

How are you today?  I hope you are fantastic and happy :)

Today I managed to create a card .... even though once again the little one had only a little nap ... sigh.  Luckily I had coloured my image last night.  And wouldn't you know it ... I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking about how to put together this card ....... oh no I think I have a problem .... will have to start completing my cards before I go to bed I think ha ha ha.

I coloured this absolutely gorgeous Tiddly Inks Cast Your Spell fairy .... Isn't she stunning!  She was lovely to colour.  I used some glitter glue on her dress, wings and fairy dust.

On the base card I used a Martha Steward Glue Pad and some Glitter that I picked up from the local Spotlight store.  I hadn't used either of these before.  Actually quite easy.  The stamp I used was a Crafty Kids G17K Flourish.  Wish I had some turquoise glitter .. it would have looked spectacular.  But I must admit I do like this lovely blue against the black card.

So what do you think?  I'm not really big on glitter as I hate getting it all over my hands ... but it is staying on there pretty well :)

 Isn't she just gorgeous!  Can't wait to colour her in something different.

Crafting For All Seasons Challenge #9 - Birthday

Hello and welcome :)

This week over at Crafting For All Season's the challenge is Birthday and is being sponsored by Meljen's!  You could win yourself some gorgeous Meljen's stamps so head on over and get your entry in.

I have used the gorgeous new Cubbin Around image from Meljen's.  I was a bit scared at first as I didn't really know how to colour it and I had no idea about which colours to use.  So in my usual way I just guessed and this is what I came up with.  I'm pretty happy as it was my first attempt and I think they look adorable.

I didn't have any background paper that I liked so I made my own.  On some green scrapbook paper I stamped  Lucy's Stamp 1872LF Chalk Leaves Small in Colour Box Fluid Chalk Warm Green.  Totally happy with the result ... here is a picture.

I then matted the image on some brownish coloured card and then the same orange/brown as the base card.  The words Birthday Wishes are actually some Rub Ons from Wendy Irving.  I really like these as they are so easy to use .. will have to try and find myself some more.  I got these ones free with a card making subscription years ago.

I used the sewing machine!

Hello and I hope you had or are having a lovely day.  I'm pretty excited as I have finally sewn on a card!  It has taken me ages to get the courage to try this .... and its so (sew he he he) (pardon the pun) easy!

I'm not sure how you are supposed to 'finish off' the ends but I just snipped them, the tape on the back of the cards should hold the stitching in.

I have used a really gorgeous Tiddly Inks stamp (that I purchased last night .... oops she just fell into my shopping cart ... couldn't very well tell her to get out now could I?)  Her name is Lilli Claire - Did you hear.

I have coloured her in copics ... can't remember the exact colours as I was doing it at the kitchen bench this afternoon whilst my daughter was 'cooking' in her play kitchen.  No nap today ... so had to get some colouring in somewhere.

The leaves are a cuttlebug die, had never used it before but so glad I had it as it matched perfectly.  The Autumn Wishes sentiment is a Magnolia sentiment that I won from Jacque's Joie de Vivre a while ago.

The little piece of patterned paper is from Kaisrscrapbook and it's called Sea Spray.

I hope you like my card .... I'm quite happy with the simplicity.  I love this little image and there are some more of this gorgeous little Claire that I would love to get my colouring hands on ... so they are on my wish list :)

Waste not want not ..... TPS Challenge #35 Using Cardboard

Good evening .... aahhh it's nice to be back.  Did you miss me?  I missed being here.  I got some shifts at work ...so unfortunately crafting had to take a back seat.

Some wonderful news though!  I was just thinking that our internet seemed fast and mentioned it to my DH and he commented that he upgraded us to a higher plan .... yippeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

The challenge over at Tickled Pink this week is to use some cardboard.  I am in the process of trying to de-clutter my home and live as I am a serious hoarder!  I'm not joking ... I keep every little bit of wrapping paper, rubber band, blank envelope, birthday card, letter, dry flowers (when I'm lucky enough to get them, so that I can cherish them) ..... I have serious issues in letting go of things ... but I am working on it.  So would you believe it! I couldn't find any cardboard!!!!!!!  Thankgoodness it was recycling bin day on Friday ... and yep ...you guessed it I went through the neighbours bin to find a cardboard box.

So with my newly acquired cardboard box I scampered back down the driveway in my slippers and dressing gown and thoroughly enjoyed demolishing it.  I ended up with this one piece in particular that I really liked the shape of and this was the beginning of my 'door hanger'.

I punched some holes, threaded through some very nice copper wire that I 'borrowed' from my Husband's tool shed and then randomly slapped down my other elements.  I wanted a really rough look and I'm happy with how it turned out.

I'm absolutely thrilled with my colouring of the lovely Christina.  I tried something different with the hair, and I think it worked.  It's a bit hard to tell in the photos but I used C3, C5 and C7 for the jeans as I wanted a different look to the usual blue.  They look really good ... I want a pair (but I want the figure to match)

This is going to hang off the lamp stand on my desk.  The sentiment is fitting I think ... but also makes me remember to think outside the box when I'm putting together things.  The guitar is a symbol of "me time".... when I'm creating I put my favourite music on (not the wiggles, or hi 5 but my music for once).  The awesome guitar charm is from Spotlight in the beading section.

So even though I don't think that this creation is really even in the running for a prize over at TP, I'm totally proud of it as it has some real meaning for me.  So thanks TP DT for inspiring me to create something for me.

Anyway I have ranted and bored you enough .... here are the photos ...

How gorgeous is she!  Chose her own clothes today and was very excited about going outside.  I have been trying to get her to wear the sunglasses for months!  And suddenly she started wearing them ... and now if we leave the house without them ... TANTRUM!  Ahhh the love we have for our children ... this picture totally melts my heart and makes me smile.  I'm so proud of my gorgeous girl.

It's hard to create with a cat on your lap ....

Good afternoon :)  Its a lovely sunny day here in Victoria, Australia and this morning I did some gardening and planted some carnations.  This arvo while my gorgeous girl is having her nap I got time to create a card.  It was a little difficult as I had one of our cats (we have two black cats ... a 14 year old named Floyd and a 5 year old named Teilk) firmly planted on my lap.  Teilk was not going to budge ... lucky I had everything close at hand.

I have coloured this cute little Meljen's image - Birthday Cupcake Mouse and then kept it all simple (mainly because I couldn't get to anything else ha ha ha).

A gorgeous little pixie boy .....

Just a quick post .... promised my husband I would be finished at my desk by 9.30pm and its getting very close to that now!

I have coloured the gorgeous little pixie boy in the rain from Sliekje Stamps.  These stamps are FREE!  and there is such a great range on this site.  Gorgeous images :)

I have coloured him using the following copics:-

and of course some clear spica pen on the wings and rain drops.

I recently purchased this gorgeous embossing folder of owls!  Hadn't used it yet .... am really happy with it.  But a full embossed background was a little too much so I just used a strip.

I've got a story to tell ....

Once upon a time ...........................

there was a gorgeous Tiddly Inks Steampunk lady called Precious.  Precious loved to wear beautiful clothes and fancy hats but most of all she loved to read, write and travel.

So one cool spring morning Precious dressed in her prettiest travel clothes and booked a ticket on a cruise around the world.  She thought this cruise would be the perfect way to experience new things and write about them in her journals.  So she packed one suitcase with her pretty clothes, the biggest case with her well read books, the third with her shoes and lastly a small pink box with her favourite hat.

Precious enjoyed her travels and filled many journals with her experiences.  THE END

I have used the gorgeous Precious from Tiddly Inks as the star of my story.  The suitcases and the book background are also from Tiddly Inks ... they were/are available as FREEBIES!

I have kept the base card simple by just running a pink ink pad around the outside.  I have coloured all the other images with my copics :-
E000, 00, 02 - Skin
E31, 35, 37 - Hair
E50, 51, 53 - Cream areas
R81, 83, 85, - pink areas
C3, 5, 7 - black areas
E11, 13, 15 - for bottom suitcase (also used Y17 on the suitcases latches and trims.
Of course there is also some spica pen floating about the place ..... wouldn't be a fairytale without some glitter :)
