Crafting For All Seasons - Many Layers

Layer upon layer upon layer ...... well it certainly explains how I'm dressed today ... it is so cold here!  Well its probably not that cold .... 14 degrees celcius ... but to me that is cold enough.  But it also describes our current challenge over at Crafting For All Seasons.

For this challenge we are being sponsored by:-

&

The image I have selected for this challenge is the gorgeous Emo Mermaid from Just Some Lines.  As soon as I saw her I just had to colour her and I loved colouring and creating with her so much that I actually made two cards.

With this first card I really experimented with my copics ... I didn't use colours in the same family ... I just picked a bunch of pastel colours and went for it.  I'm really happy with the result.  I used some Liquid Pearls for her hair decoration and some glitter glue on her scales (the glitter glue did unfortunately blur the colours on her tail though).

The papers are from my stash ... and I thought the pattern looked perfect for waves ... so I cut them to suit.  I also added a strip of pale green ribbon through the middle of the card and some cute little cut out starfish.

For my second card I used the same starfish (I think it was a Lucy's stamp) and then just layered lots of different colours.  I really love this one too.

Thank you so much for stopping by ... don't forget to head on over to the Crafting For All Seasons Challenge Blog for some more inspiration.

Bingo! - over at Whimsy

hello hello hello :)  I hope you have had or are having a sensational day.

Over at the Whimsy Inspires Blog this week it is Team A's turn to delight you with the gorgeous projects .. and this week the theme is Bingo.  So make sure you head on over to check it out .... here.

But talking about challenges ... I have coloured this gorgeous Carnival Carousel Horse from the Whimsy store.  I have had this gorgeous horse for some time now .. but have been a little afraid of it.  One I don't like horses (except to look at ... there is no way you will get me on one ... ok maybe a carousel horse) ... and two .... I found this image daunting.  I deliberated over colours for over an hour!  and this is the result.

In the end the colours I selected were:-
BG15, V15, RV17 and then C3, C5 & C7 for the horse.  I used some glitter and some gemstones to complete the saddle.

I would have loved to have a completed card to show you ... but I just didn't get time to finish it.  But I really wanted to share the image with you ... I'm a bit proud :)

I hope you enter this week's challenge and good luck :)

I received a gift from Greece!

Good evening :)  I just wanted to share with you a lovely gift I received from Arabella over at Chickie Chirps Blog.

Arabella was running a little competition on her page .. and although I didn't win .. she did send me this gorgeous little package .. all the way from Greece to Australia!  I was thrilled!

Arabella made me this totally SENSATIONAL card.  I have 5 cards sent to me from Blogging friends .. and they take pride of place on my desk ... they mean so much to me.  That someone takes the time to create something so wonderful ... just for me! ... when I don't even know them (other than on a blog) makes me feel all warm and gushy.

She also included this cute stamp, a packet of little felt stars and some lovely 6x6 papers!  Ooooohhhh!

Isn't this card gorgeous!

A huge thank you Arabella .... I love your blog and it was so much fun playing your little guessing game .. hard though LOL!  Your card has certainly bought a smile to my face.

Big Hugs to Arabella and my crafting/blogging friends ... what a sensational community!

You can check out Chickie Chirps here.

A Bunch of Flowers for you .....

Good evening.  I hope you have had a wonderful day.  We have had lots of rain and cold weather here in Victoria Australia and I thought things needed brightening up with a celebration of colour and friendship ... so this is for you .... my blogging friend ... I wish I could give you a real bunch but at least a photo will last longer :)

I'm sorry about the terrible photo ... we haven't had any lovely sunlight as such .... so none of my photos were turning out.  I have used the super cute Wryn Blooms from TiddlyInks (here)  I have many of these gorgeous Wryn images ... but not all of them .... something I'm working on though :)

I have coloured Wryn with copic markers.  The purple cardstock has a lovely shimmery texture and I embossed the white with a nice floral embossing folder.

I hope this helps brighten your day.  Happy blogging and crafting.

Whimsy - Vintage/Shabby Chic Challenge

Another Wednesday!  And that means another challenge over at Whimsy.

This week it is Team B's turn to inspire you .... so be sure to check out their gorgeous creations on the Whimsy Inspires Blog  here.

The challenge this week is
Vintage/Shabby Chic.

There is a fabulous prize up for grabs

For my card I have once again used this gorgeous image from the store called Little Bear Garden Delight .. you can find this gorgeous digi here.  I have also used some digi papers from the store .... I am totally in love with these papers ... they print out so beautifully and are so gorgeous.

I used a lace stamp in some lovely caramel ink down the side, distressed the edges and die cut some flowers (Marianne Design Craftables).  A couple of little brads in the centre of the flowers added a nice bit of vintage and voila ... card complete.

I do hope you join in the fun and enter your own card ... I absolutely struggle with this style .. so would love to see what you come up with so that I can 'borrow' your ideas (she types with a big smile).

Enjoy your crafting/blogging and I hope to see you again very soon.

Whoopsi Daisy - Shape It Challenge

Hello there :)  I hope you are having a fabulous day ... or perhaps you are just sitting on the fence .. deciding what to do like this gorgeous Fairy from Whoopsi Daisy.

This lovely image is from Sheet No. 280.  You get at least four images on a sheet!  I really love this one ... she looks like she is contemplating a lot of things.

I have coloured her in copic markers and used Spica pens on her wings and dress.  (they never show up in the photos though).

Over at Whoopsi Daisy this week the challenge is
Shape It ....
so that means anything other than your usual square card.

I have used some sensational digi papers from Whimsy for my background.  I thought the swirls matched the image perfectly and that 'fence' paper was just what I was looking for.  The top lacy pattern was cut from one of my new spellbinders dies from the Morocan Accents range.  Isn't it lovely.

As you can see the bottom part (the fence) opens up and there is a little panel inside to write the message on.  (sorry couldn't get a decent photo on this cold, wet and dull day).

I have used some gorgeous antique brads to be the hinge for the gate.

Be sure to head on over to the Whoopsi Daisy challenge blog and see the gorgeous cards created by the DT ... and then enter in your own Shaped project ..... if you use a Whoopsi image you could be the winner of a special prize.  (you can find a FREE IMAGE here)

Take care ... and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Whimsy Stamps - Make It Pop

Up in the air I fly ... zoom zoom a zoom a zoom zoom .....
Hmmm you can tell what I spend most of my day doing ... yep ... looking after a toddler.  Lots of singing, dancing, food, crying, running around and mess.

But the evenings ... well they are for me .... aaahhhh craft (unless I'm working my part time job) .... so last night I created a cute little card for a cute little girl's Birthday that is coming up.

Over at the Whimsy Inspiration Challenges Blog this week our them is

Make It Pop
(add dimension)

Well I have done both ... I have added dimension and coloured something that would pop ... a balloon!  How cute is this little mouse from the new release over at Whimsy Stamps!

This little cutie is called Free Ride and you can find it here.

It was very hard to get a good photo for you ... our days here at the moment are dreary and wet.  I coloured the cute little critter in copic markers.  The balloon is also coloured in copics and then I went over the top with Ranger Glossy Accents.  The image is mounted onto the card using a double sided foam mount.

I embossed the top part of the card using a gorgeous embossing folder from Crafts-Too ... To me it looks like feathers ... and then I went over the top of the raised image with a Faber Castell glitter glue pen.

The edges down the bottom are cut using some Spellbinders dies and then I added some lovely purple rhinestones to give a bit more bling and colour.

If you head on over to the Whimsy Challenge Blog you will see some fabulous projects from the DT .... and of course you can enter your own project and possibly win yourself a wonderful prize!

Thankyou so much for stopping by ...

Up up and away ........

A card for Madalyn ... from Wendy

Hi everyone ... I hope you have had a great day.  I'm feeling sleepy and full .... just finished our evening meal of a delicious casserole I made last night .... mmmmm scrumptious.  Just perfect for this cold and drizzly weather.

I wanted to share with you an absolutely gorgeous card that was sent to me from a crafting friend .... Wendy from LollyDolly Crafts.  She made this card for my daughter Madalyn ... when she was ill .... (the snail mail has only just delivered it LOL ..... Madalyn is all better now) ..... and Madalyn just loves it!

Wendy ... this card is so gorgeous ... thankyou so much.

Wendy also posted to me the April 2012 issue of Making Cards.  Her card was featured on the front cover! and she 3 more cards featured in the magazine!  Wow!  I was so thrilled for my blogging/FB friend and when I shared my excitement with her she was so generous as to send me a copy of the magazine (as I couldn't find it here in Australia).

Its always so special to receive a gift and a handmade card in the mail .... thanks Wendy!

This week Tickled Pink Stamps is proudly sponsoring The Squirrel and The Fox Challenges where the theme is "one for the girls".

I hope you head on over there and join in all the fun and you'll have a chance to win some Tickled Pink digis too.

I have used the sensational Lil Lolita Ivy for my card .... isn't she sweet!  She's my latest addition to my ever growing Tickled Pink Stamps collection.  I really enjoyed colouring her with my copics.

This gorgeous paper and ribbon is from Stampin Up and so are the gorgeous stamps.  They are from a set called Kindness Matters.  I'm totally in love with this set as those butterflies are just gorgeous!

I have coloured the adorable Ivy in copic markers ... she was lovely to colour and I can see her getting used a whole lot more!  The doily die is from Marianne Design Craftables.  I roughly cut around my image to fit it in the die.  And when I say roughly  .... well ... the oval wasn't great to I distressed the edges .. and that worked a treat!

Thankyou so much for stopping by :)
Big big hugs ... and remember ... kindness matters .... so your task today is not only to create a beautiful project to enter into the challenge over at The Squirrel and The Fox but also to do a random act of kindness somewhere.  Come on ... you can do it .. and both will make you feel fabulous.

We Love Pink over at Whoopsi Daisy

red and yellow and PINK and green .... purple and orange and blue .......

Its another challenge week over at Whoopsi Daisy and this week the theme is

We Love Pink

The pink I have used on my card is making me think of those lollies called Musk Sticks ... and I really really want one now ....

The image I have used is from Sheet 346.  Isn't she so cute.  I love these images as they are so sweet and innocent ... they make me think of my little girl skipping and playing.

I have used one of my new Spellbinders Persian Accnets Dies to create the decorative edges and a gorgeous butterfly embossing folder in the background.  The image is coloured in Copic Markers.

You are going to love the totally sweet and magnificent pink creations by the Design Team this week.  Head on over to the blog to check them out ...... by entering your own card and using a Whoopsi Daisy image you can win a lovely prize.  If you don't have a Whoopsi Daisy image ... never fear .. you can find one FREE! here.

Whimsy Stamps - Inspirations Challenges

Hi there ..... wow May already!!!  Not long now until we move houses .... I'm counting down the days believe me ... I'm totally excited.

Over at the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Blog we have a new challenge ... so be sure to check it out.  There are gorgeous projects to see for the Spots and Dots theme.

I have a card to show you today but it is not using Spots and Dots .... but I have used one of the gorgeous new Digi Images that were released this month.

I have used this gorgeous image called Sparrow from Lia Stampz.  My almost 3 year old daughter has been asking if we will be leaving the birds behind and the old house and if there will be birds at the new house.  How cute!  (not pet birds ... wild birds)  We went for a drive out to the new place so she could see and was absolutely delighted to see all the cockatoos flying and screeching.  We are moving out into the country so I'm sure she will see lots more birds.

Anyway .. back to the card ..... I have also used some gorgeous Whimsy paper called Blue Linen Floral.  I cut out some of the flowers and used them on the corner of the image.  I cut around the image using a Nellie's Mult Frame's die.  (MFD029).

Be sure to check out the gorgeous cards for this weeks challenge ..... and I'll see you back next week for a new challenge and another new image.

Crafting For All Seasons - Handmade Flowers

Colour is needed!  especially around here at the moment ... its dull, wet and cold ..... and its not even winter yet!

This miserable weather inspired me to make a super bright and light hearted card ........ and because the theme over at Crafting For All Seasons this challenge is HANDMADE FLOWERS ... well that made it pretty easy :)

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Bugaboo stamps ..... and they are offering our winner 7 images!!!!  OH MY GOODNESS!!  If you haven't been to Bugaboo before you simply MUST! ... there are so many gorgeous images and most of them are so easy to colour!

I was lucky enough to get to select an image to use .... (I already have so many because I love them, but have had my eye on this one for ages ... so yippeee!)  This is Edward Elephant - Flower and you can find him here.

I coloured my image in copic markers and then used papers from my 'stash' ... the flower his cut out from the scrapbook paper and then I have used a stylus to round up the edges.  This was my very first attempt at doing it .... hmmmm I think you must need some sort of moulding mat .... I ended up using my leg LOL ... but will be investing in a mat soon I think.

I absolutely adore the simplicity but total cuteness of this image.  That little chick peeking around the corner of Edward's leg ... gorgeous!  My Mum loves Elephants .... and bright colours .... so this will be going to her for Mother's Day.

Don't forget to head on over to the Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the Design Teams projects.  I look forward to seeing your own Handmade Flower creation entered as well .... what a fabulous prize ... you want to be in the running for that!

Thankyou so much for stopping by ... I hope the day is brighter and warmer where you are ... but if not just try making a bright and happy card ... I guarantee it will lift your spirits :)

Big Hugs and bunches of flowers to you ... handmade of course :)

Whimsy New Release - May Blog Hop

ooohhhhh don't you just love the start of a new month????  There are many reasons why a new month is lovely but one of them is because there is always a new release of digi images from

and another reason is because there is a Blog Hop ... which of course means lots of inspiration and some prizes....... so don't forget to go in the proper order and leave a comment on everyone's blog!

You should have arrived here from Suzi's blog ... The Manic World of Mrs Weyremaster  If you get lost along the way then just head back over to the Whimsy blog for a list :)

For my card I have used this totally cute new image called Little Bear Garden Delight.  As soon as I saw this little bear I just HAD to colour it.  I have used Copic Markers and some Spica pens.

The base card is a lovely deep purple and I have used a matching piece for the 'diamond border' piece.  This is a Spellbinders Die from Classic Decorative Inserts Five.  I have stuck on some little rhinestones to tie in the pinks.  The flowers are from Kaisercraft (I think ... ).  The Flourish is a Cheery Lynn Deigns Die called Tropical Flourish.
The gorgeous background paper is from a Collage Paper Pack from Pink Paislee.  The Pack is called Vintage Vogue.

This little bear was a pure delight to colour ... so simple and so gorgeous.

Don't forget to start at the beginning of the hop .... and leave a comment on each page .... there are gorgeous projects that will truly inspire you.  And of course there will be a couple of prizes to win along the way.

Creative Craft Challenges - Anything Goes

Grrrrrrrrrr ...... no its not me being frustrated ..... its the animal peeking out making that noise ... see?

Over at Creative Craft Challenges this week it is ANYTHING GOES ...... yep thats right ... Anything!  so lets see what you've got ........ you can enter here.

I have done a very basic card using a brand new stamp that I have.  I only got it in the mail today from my good friend Shirley from Simply Stampin With Shirl.  She recently introduced me to Viva Las Vegas Stamps .... and this is one of my favourites.  Shirley also has a great video on how to use unmounted stamps .. you can check it out here.

I see a lot of people making candles .... and I think this would look sensational on a candle!  I must watch a tutorial on how to make one.

I can tell you that this stamp is going to get a LOT of use ...... it is a great 'all rounder' and will make fabulous Masculine themed cards.

I'm looking forward to seeing your projects entered into a challenge .... over on the blog you will see some totally gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team .... ooooohhhh they are sensational!

Thankyou so much for stopping by ......
