Vintage? and sandpaper!

Good evening.  Well I'm a bit excited!  Because I used sandpaper on my card tonight!  Never done this before .... but I love the result.

I have one of my new Digi's ... I won her from a recent Tickled Pink Challenge.  She is called Lil Victorian Lylah.  I have been after this stamp for ages but had set myself a goal ... I wasn't to purchase her ... I had to win her!  It has taken a while but finally it happened.

I'm also excited because I have never made a 'vintage' card before.  I'm not even exactly sure what a Vintage card is supposed to look like .... perhaps nothing like this ha ha ha .... but the colours and textures made me think vintage ...so here it is.

I coloured Lylah in Copics V91, V93, V95 for her dress and used C0 and C1 for the white/grey areas.  Skin is the usual E000, E00 and R20 for the lips and a dash of B000 in the eyes.  A mix of YR23, Y28 and E35 for the hair.  And yes ... there is spica pen on it .. he he he ..... on the umbrella lace and flower.

I used Kaisercraft scrapbooking paper and roughed up the edges a bit.  For the piece under the sentiment I scrunched it all up and then smoothed it out (very relaxing).  Around the images and all over the white doily I rubbed Tim Holtz distress ink in Milled Lavender ... it was a perfect match to the papers!  The flowers are from a little box of flowers that I have had for years .... at least 25!  Had them when I started getting into craft as a child and have never used them ... kept them all these years!

I'm really pleased with this card and really look forward to your feedback.  Is it vintage do you think?

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-
Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge - #45 Vintage
My Mum's Craft Shop - #31 Sugar And Spice
The Outlawz - Greetings Challenge Give Thanks (have to be a member)

Thankyou for stopping by ... I hope you are having a lovely evening/day and I look forward to seeing you next time.

  6. I think it's a lovely vintage card :) I get very happy hearing about those flowers since I collect everything and think I'll use it some day. Now I have living proof that one actually can use saved trasures, my hubbie just sighs and shakes his head at me S.
