I have ink all over my hands

Good evening.  Another busy day for me today out in the garden.  My daughter and I did some more weeding and planted a few shrubs.  While I was busy pulling the grass out from around the fence Madalyn was busy giving the ants a bath.  She would pick one up and put it in a dish of water and then "it's cold now, time to get out" she would say before fishing it out with her little fingers and drying it on a towel.  She then went and put it back in the garden.  So funny!

Last night I created some background paper and tonight I put the card together.

Above is a picture of the completed card ..... using the gorgeous Tiddly Inks Druscilla. I can't remember what colours I used to colour her as I did it last night and put them away without writing it down.  The colours don't really 'blend' very well but that was kind of what I was after.

With the background card ..... what I did was used a piece of gloss white and then stamped a Penny Black Sunburst stamp in perfect medium and then used a clear embossing powder over the top.  Once the image was embossed I dripped some silver and blue ink refills over the card and then with some scrunched up plastic wrap I swirled it all around.  I also did one on black and was going to use that as well .. but she looked nice on the silver one (will save the black for another card ... probably with Tiddly Inks Cast Your Spell).

The ink took quite a while to dry so I left it overnight ......

I took this photo on a bit of an angle as you can see the 'scratched look' a bit better.

I'm really pleased with this card and would like to enter it into the following challenges:-
Tiddly Inks Challenge - #70 Silvery Blues
Crafts And Me Challenges - #58 Winter Blues

Thanks for stopping by ..... I could be MIA for a few nights.  Tomorrow night I am going to my friend Danie's house and we are going to create, eat and gossip :)  I'm really looking forward to it..... and yes I'll be leaving the little one at home (with her Dad) so it should be stress free :)

And then perhaps on Saturday and Sunday I may be working night shifts ... work has yet to ring me ... but if they do have something available I will be working ... which alas means no crafting as I will need to sleep and then go to work.  But you never know ... there may not be any shifts ..... the joys of being a casual employee (won't be going back to work full time until Madalyn is at school ... hopefully).

Anyway ... I'm waffling again .... should get going and colour ... and so should you!

See you soon

  2. The dripping silver and blue bits are gorgeous. I wasn't sure at first how you created this awesome background, it almost looks like it was dry embossed. How every you did it, it's perfection and Druscilla is wonderfully coloured.

Cute garden story, my DD would have squished them, she doesn't like bugs.

Thanks for joining the Tiddly Inks Silvery Blues Challenge.
