Meljens Design Team Blog Challenge #67

Good evening :)  Computer troubles again ... so this is going to be a hit and miss...... our PC won't stay connected to the internet which is very frustrating.

Anyway to todays card ... which believe me was no easy task.  Not only do I have a very sick girl but it is her 2nd Birthday tomorrow and we are expecting a housefull of people (yep they still want to come even though she has a terrible cold!) so I have been baking nearly all day.  Chocolate chip cookies, anzac biscuits, date loaf, gingerbread cake and of course the Birthday cake.  My attempt at decorating the cake this year was not that great ... its hard to do with a grizzly toddler hanging onto your leg.

So anyway while she was having a much needed nap I quickly got creating this card.  The challenge is "Buttons & Bows".  For a change I worked backwards .... by this I mean I picked my embellishments, then my papers and then my image and copics.
I really struggled to colour this gorgeous little pig.  I can't really do pinks .... I think I need more colours to be able to blend better.  I was very happy with the little guy's face but not so happy with his body.  Pigs are my favourite animal and this one is such a cutie that I was a bit sad that I didn't do a great job ... oh well he looks happy enough :)

I'm happy with my card layout ... I have lots of buttons and a couple of bows (which I fiddled around with for quite a while ... hard to tie such a small piece of ribbon) and I'm really happy with the colour scheme.

I spend a lot of time checking out people's creations on their blogs ... and they are just stunning ... but I try and be a little different and 'off centre'.  I hope you like it ....

Woo Hoo I just won an Inspirational Badge for this card from Meljen's!  My first prize for a card ever!
